Support EVP of Network Distribution in negotiations with broadcasters and MVPD's.

  • Develop financial models in connection with affiliation deals

 

Program acquisition and scheduling for the CW's four regional broadcast networks.

 

Oversee the technical operations of the CW Plus broadcast networks and liaise with CBS on satellite distribution 

of the CW Television Network.

Effectuate tactical initiatives designed to broaden the network's distribution base across various media platforms.

Provide communications and analysis to network executives about spectrum issues and new distribution technologies.

Architect of a regional 24/7 broadcast television network that has created dozens of new local television stations and generated millions of dollars of incremental local, regional and national revenues

  • Responsible for all aspects of the business including launch, stewardship of the P&L, affiliate acquisition, national unwired advertising sales, creation of local and regional advertiser sales initiatives, programming procurement, on-air promotion and marketing, traffic, operations, accounting and physical distribution

THE WB TELEVISION NETWORK  Burbank, CA

 

Executive Vice President and General Manager--The WB 100+ Cable Network                                                1997-2006 

 

Broadcast Television Network--owned by Warner Bros. (75%) and The Tribune Company (25%)

 

Created a regional cable network via cutting-edge digital platforms that generated solid audience deliveries and many concurrent revenue streams. 

  • Charged with building the division from its inception; Promoted to Executive Vice President in 1999

  • Created strategic sales partnerships with network affiliated television stations

  • Successfully managed all aspects of the business including advertising sales, cable carriage (MSO agreements), programming acquisition, promotion and marketing, traffic, operations, accounting and physical distribution

 

GAME SHOW NETWORK   Culver City, CA 

 

Senior Vice President--Programming and Operations.                                                                                  1994-1997 

National Cable Network--owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

 

Built a national cable network which featured industry-leading interactive television applications.

  • Co-developed a ground-breaking new launch template for cable networks 

  • Supervised current program development including original long-form and live interstitial programming

  • Developed long-form specials

  • Created live interactive programming elements 

  • Co-created online components including the first web application for “Wheel of Fortune” in partnership with AT&T Interactive

  • Launched a special production unit which created weekly broadcast television programming for state lotteries

Developed local programming initiatives and achieved the highest margins while maintaining the lowest programming costs and best ROI in the respective designated market areas.

  • Oversaw all program acquisitions and scheduling

  • Created numerous non-traditional revenue streams including a variety of sales-driven local programming initiatives 

  • Developed a business partnership with Anheuser-Busch which culminated in a weekday half-hour television strip which generated a six-to-one ROI in its inaugural season.

  • Created program partnerships with Hollywood studios and joint ventures with key local and regional businesses

  • Launched a radio network in west Florida to effectuate a brand extension for local and regional news programming
